Bennie D. Mills

Bennie D. Mills, 78, died Monday, August 23, 2010, at

Candler County Hospital.  The Cobbtown native was the son of

Willie Bill Mills and Mary Ellen Powell Mills.  He returned to

Cobbtown in 2005 from Effingham County upon retirement from

Action Auto Parts as a mechanic.  Bennie was a kind, gentle man

who loved music, dancing and telling good jokes.

He was a wonderful Daddy and Granddaddy.  He faithfully attended

the Cobbtown United Methodist Church.  Bennie was preceded in

death by his wife, Mardell Mills;  his parents; twin infants;  siblings,

Dan Powell, Lester E. Mills, W. Louis Mills and Ella Belle Huggins.

Survivors are sons, Ben Larry Mills of Rincon and Jerry Dean Mills

of Perry;  daughters and sons-in-law;  Betty Ruth and T.L. Quinney

of Port Wentworth, Linda Jean and Gregg Jones of Rincon;

a brother Frank "Freight Train" Mills of Cobbtown; cousin and

dear friend, Euna Mae Powell Oglesby;  six grandchildren and five

great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 PM, at Kennedy Funeral Homes,

Cobbtown Chapel.  Memorial funeral services will be held Wednesday,

3:00 PM, at the Cobbtown United Methodist Church with the

Rev. Joey Holloway officiating.
